Into the story

Ten chapters, one life

From cart to island.

10 stages: bakery, café, office, plaza, skyscraper… and finally an island of your own. The cart gets too small, so you open a kiosk. The kiosk gets too small, so you bake. Every chapter your HQ grows and the skyline changes.

  1. Scene from the game: Coffee Cart

    Chapter 1Coffee Cart

    A Tray of Croissants

At the ferry pier, under a striped umbrella: your very first cart. You learned to shout “Fresh croissants!” as the ferry docks. Old Harry: “They remember your smile, kid, not the croissant.”

Old Harry A tray of croissants, an umbrella and a big dream.

  2. Scene from the game: Kiosk

    Chapter 2Kiosk

    The Corner Kiosk

At last, a roof to keep the rain off. The sandwich press clicks, the coffee machine never sleeps. Mum: “Love, someone with their own front door stands taller.”

Mum A bigger menu, more customers and a roof over your head.

  3. Scene from the game: Bakery

    Chapter 3Bakery

    Warm from the Oven

Dough at three in the morning, the first tray out at six. You kept your word: the first croissant out of the oven goes to Old Harry. One bite and his eyes well up: “An oven wants patience, kid. Rush it and you burn your bread.”

Old Harry Into the oven, out just right: hot croissants fly off the counter.

  4. Scene from the game: Café & Patisserie

    Chapter 4Café & Patisserie

    The Coffee’s Brewing

Cheesecake in the window, cups clinking on every table. The nicest corner of the harbour is yours now. Every Sunday Mum sits at the same table and tells anyone who’ll listen: “That’s my kid.”

Mum The tables are ordering: get the right tray from the right oven in time.

  5. Scene from the game: Office above the bakery

    Chapter 5Office above the bakery

    Up the Stairs

A small room above the bakery: a desk, a phone, a stack of paperwork. The smell of croissants drifts up; up here the decisions are yours. Old Harry: “A hand that holds a pen carries more than one that holds a tray.”

Old Harry The bakers run the oven downstairs; the decisions are on your desk now.

  6. Scene from the game: Old Exchange Building

    Chapter 6Old Exchange Building

    The Exchange Corridors

A whole floor of the old stone-stepped Exchange is yours. Managers at the doors, your first tenders on the desk. Ms Fiona Reed: “The banks meet you at the door now, just so you know.”

Ms Fiona Reed Offices, managers and your first tenders.

  7. Scene from the game: Harbour Plaza

    Chapter 7Harbour Plaza

    Glass Doors

The lift climbs to the twentieth floor; the boardroom looks out over the harbour. The big deals are on your desk now. On her first visit Mum gripped the handrail all the way up.

Mum Big deals and the negotiating table await.

  8. Scene from the game: Holding Tower

    Chapter 8Holding Tower

    Your Own Tower

Your name shines at the top of the tower. The board, mergers, takeovers… The first thing Old Harry did when he stepped out of the lift was look for the croissant tray.

Old Harry The board is ready to meet: mergers and takeovers.

  9. Scene from the game: The Kodaman Spire

    Chapter 9The Kodaman Spire

    The Skyline

Your Spire is part of the city skyline now. Newspapers, cameras, investors at your door. Ms Fiona Reed: “You move the market now. Not the other way round.”

Ms Fiona Reed The whole city is talking about you: press, investment and prestige.

  10. Scene from the game: Kodaman Island

    Chapter 10Kodaman Island
